Golf Club Makers Can Provide the Perfect Fit

Golf Club Makers Can Provide the Perfect Fit

Sure, anyone can walk into a sporting goods store and buy a set of golf clubs, but golfers who want the clubs that work according to their physical build and swing capabilities will seek out golf club makers to put together a set of clubs custom made for them. When business is bad, in the winter for instance, many golf club makers will pass their time repairing clubs for customers or putting new grips on shafts they may have previously made. In the spring, just before the season begins, it may be tough to find one with the time available to make a new club.

Many times golf club makers got their start by making their own golf clubs or making alterations to the ones they had. Shortening clubs is not a big issue for most of them, but lengthening clubs is like starting from scratch and making them to fit the individual for whom they are being made.

Most pro shops can perform a fitting for custom clubs as can most golf club makers, but the quality of the fitting can cause it to take anywhere from 15 minutes to a few hours. Simply measuring for club length is the quickest and easiest, but the average time for a decent fitting takes around 30 minutes.

Finding Quality Workmanship Important Part Of Game

When looking for golf club makers for a custom set of clubs, it is always best to start with people who have their own clubs. Finding out who made them and if there were any troubles with the clubs is a good first step. No golfer wants to take the chance of striking the ball and having a detached club head travel further than the ball.

A set of clubs made by reputable golf club makers will take into account the combination of the shaft’s length and flex as well as the kick point. They will want to see you swing the different clubs to determine the lie of the club, that is to make the club parallel to the ground on impact as well as the grip strength of the golfer.

Buying mass produced clubs off the shelf, which are made for the typical golfer may be good for those matching the typical golfer’s size and stature, but golf club makers do not match ready-made clubs to golfers, rather they match the golfer to a new set of custom made clubs.

Acer Putters - Accurate on the Greens

Every serious golfer needs to have his own set of golf clubs. Using the same clubs each and every time you play a game of golf and for every practice session will definitely help to improve your golf game. However, just heading to the nearest sporting goods store and purchasing a set of clubs off of the sales floor isn’t really the best option. Instead, customized clubs should be purchased. Manufacturers mass produce golf clubs for sale at stores that are sized for average heights, weights, and strengths of women and men-yet how many people are really average? It is far wiser to inquire at a golf store (either online or brick-and-mortar) about getting golf clubs custom made for you. Additionally, many experts recommend that people have Acer putters made for them. Acer putters are some of the most advanced in the putter component market. They are all painstakingly created through the use of computer aided design (CAD) software. Since the United States Golf Association (USGA) made a rules change, the face of a putter doesn’t need to be greater in size than the front-to-back dimension. So, Acer putters are able to have a different shape to them, which makes them more straight and accurate. Currently, there are five models of Acer putters that you can purchase to have custom assembled. Each has different features, and each can make a big difference in your golf game. Here are the different models: Acer CB2: This model has a two-piece construction. The milled aluminum face is lightweight, and the center section has a soft feel. These allow the weight to be distributed to the outer part of the head. These Acer putters have very high inertia because each has a stainless steel outer right which provides weight-and, therefore, accuracy.

Acer CB3: This Acer truly takes advantage of the USGA rules change about shape and design because its concept was a reverse engineering of the traditional putter shape. Acer reduced the material in the face (which now measures 2 2/3″) and redistributed it into the corners. The head is made from stainless steel with a black aluminum insert. The result is that these Acer putters greatly reduce twisting.

Acer CB4: Customization was key with the development of this model. Screws can be used to fine-tune the balance and weight of these Acer putters-there are actually 36 custom options offered! With this model, the moment of inertial is maximized because the rear is wider than the face; therefore, accuracy is increased.

Acer CB5: This is a mallet type, yet it is more compact from front to back than most other mallet types. Additionally, these Acer putters have good weight in the rear corners which provides a high moment of impact. This results in less backspin for a more accurate putt.

Acer CB6: To look at this model, it resembles both a mallet type and a blade type. These Acer putters use the perimeter wings as weight for the club. This works to bring accuracy and inertia to the putting. Each of these Acer putters could help to enhance your golf game a great deal. It is said that up to 40% of each game of golf that is played is spent on the green; therefore, it is quite important for you to own a putter that will work well for you. Recently, a popular golfing magazine published the results of a test on the performance aspects of various golf clubs. All of the Acer putters were tested-and all of them out-shined all of the other clubs that were tested. Needless to say, to really improve your golf game, you are going to have to work hard and put in a lot of time and effort. However, choosing an Acer can definitely be a step in the right direction.

Choosing Technica Putters

Almost half the shots in a round of golf will be played with one club: the putter. Oddly enough putting ends up being the part of the game we practice the least and spend the least money on. Choosing the right one from the line of Technica putters can put you on the path toward lower scores.

Get a Grip Choose a Technica putter grip to suit the way you play as well as the club itself. There are the standard grip with a flat edge at a right angle to the blade, the textured and cord spiral grips and grips to compensate for elements of your swing.

Deciding Your Shaft Length Most golf shops rarely stock anything besides standard length 35-inch putters. Many golfers are don’t know the kind of difference in posture a longer or shorter Technica putters shaft can give. Golfers who have back problems may like a longer shaft that gives them a more upright position, but golfers who would rather bend down or have their arms hang vertically might be happier with a shorter Technica putter shaft in the 28-30 inch range.

What Shaft Material? Don’t overlook shaft composition. Although flexibility in a Technica putter shaft most likely won’t seem to matter as much as in an iron or metal-wood, considering the lack of bend at impact. It’s worth noting that when putting the shaft still conducts the feel into your fingers and palms so you can gauge pace and distance. Traditionally, shafts are made of steel but increasingly they’re made of lightweight graphite. The material will impact the speed of the club head. If you tinker with different combinations of shaft and club head you will most likely find one eventually that transmits the desired feeling to your hands on the grip.

The Lie Angle of The Technica Putter Head Too many golfers play with the heel of the club on the ground and the toe in the air, this often results in a closing of the clubface upon putting. Find an angle that permits your feet to rest flat at address. If you would like to adjust the lie by bending the shaft, keep in mind that the rules of the game of golf don’t allow bends of more than five inches from the heel of the club.

The Lie Angle of The Putter Too many players golf with the heel of the club on the ground and the toe in the air, which tends to result in a closing of the clubface at impact. Look for an angle that allows your feet to rest flat at address. If you intend to adjust the lie by bending the shaft, bear in mind that the rules of the game of golf don’t allow bends of more than five inches from the heel of the club.

What about Matching Putters To Strokes? Golfers with a pendulum-type stroke, where the path of the putter is straight back and straight through, will probably benefit from a face-balanced type of Technica putter. Face-balanced means that when the Technica putter shaft is balanced on a finger, the putter face will point upwards.

Should Technica Putters Be Matched To Strokes? Golfers with a pendulum-type putting stroke, where the path of the putter is straight back and straight through, will most likely benefit from a face-balanced type of Technica putter. Face-balanced means that when the Technica putter shaft is balanced on one finger, the putter face will point upwards. A right-handed player who frequently misses to the right and wants help closing the clubface at impact should opt for a face-balanced model. If he tends to miss to the left, a heel-shafted putter that resists closing may help.

Bald, Heel-Toe-Weighted, Mallet, Center-Shafted Technica Putters A blade putter traditionally has a head that is a rounded extension of the shaft. Heel-toe-weighted Technica putters have the shaft grafted on to the hosel, usually at an angle. A mallet putter is more solid looking, with the weight behind the clubface.

Insert Faces Why do putters have insert faces? What do they do? What value can they add? Many manufacturers are putting insert faces on their putters in an attempt to improve feel. Many top players prefer them to help them judge both distance and pace. Additionally, they may help you match the feel to the type of golf ball you prefer.

What You Need To Know About Moving Into Golf Communities

by Chris Channing

Golf communities offer much more than your average neighborhood or local community. They truly feel like home for those that live in them, and are safe for all. Golf communities are a fantastic place to raise children, or retire at. If you love golf, then a golf community is great for you! Some of the most popular golf communities are located in Florida and California.

There are different sized golf communities. Some are like mini towns with many acres of golf greens, 5 star restaurants, pools, shopping areas, and tons more. Some are small, and feel more cozy. Golf communities are a wonderful place to live, and the place that you chose to live at is a personal choice that you will probably stick with for a long time to come.

Palm Beach Florida is home to many golf communities, and large mansions in those communities. Its pricey to live here, but well worth it if you can afford it. Florida has many golf communities that are both famous, and sought out by potential home owners. The golf greens are typically designed by the top designers, and the homes are usually multi-million dollar mansions with private beach area. Florida golf communities do offer quite affordable homes as well, especially with the way home sales are going.

California golf communities are also very popular. Located on the beaches, and in popular tourist areas, California communities are usually away from all the noise that the big cities bring. You can experience living in a large and expensive area, without all of the cars driving by, and other city noises. California golf communities are truly beautiful, with ritzy area locations, and gorgeous yards.

Since golf communities offer more than a typical average community, you can expect to pay a lot more to live in them. However, some can be affordable, especially with the way the real estate market is going. Also celebrities tend to live their lives hidden in golf communities, which can really effect the pricing of your home and properties around the area.

The benefits of living in a golf community are extensive. You get to live somewhere that is strikingly beautiful, be close to a place where you can practice your favorite hobby, and live in a safe environment for your family. Golf communities are often gated, greatly reducing the risk that someone would rob your home, or you would lose any possessions. Golf communities are lovely environments to play golf, but also to raise a family.

Closing Comments

Golf communities are beautiful places to live, and offer so much to the residents who decide to live there.

Golf Cages: Clean The Garage So You Can Practice Anytime

If you’re a golfer then you’re one of 61.1 million people worldwide who enjoy the game of golf. Lots of company for those of us working to improve our game. Unfortunately most of us have a short season in which to play during the months of April to October. At least in the northern hemisphere. The rest of the time the weather isn’t as nice with the cold, rain or in some cases snow.

Warm weather golfing is still available during the off season in places like Florida, Arizona, or Nevada. Unfortunately most of us can’t run off for a quick round of golf and hop on a plane. But that doesn’t mean your golf skills will get rusty during the off season.

Quality practice time can be found even if there is snow on the ground. Find some open space and you’re ready to go.

A golf net is one of the necessary tools for “off” season practice. Using a golf net means you can spend time chipping instead of chasing balls in your garage or on a practice field.

Match the golf net with a golf practice mat and you’re good to go. Many of the golf practice mats let you use your own tees. This way you’ll have the same feel as being on your home course. The design of some mats is like the grass of your golf course. So the feel is similar to using your driver or iron on the golf course.

By combining a golf practice mat with your golf net or cage and you’ll have the best practice set-up. A specialty mat can mimic the different positions of the ball. You can practice with your wedge in uphill, downhill or side of hill positions. With the combination you can best use your time. No ball chasing but stroke practice.

What You Need To Know When Buying A Golf Net Or Golf Cage

A golf net lets you practice your chipping easily with a stationary net. You get to focus on your shots not chasing balls. Look for a golf net that is easy to put up and durable.

You want a net that pops up and folds easily. You don’t want to spend your practice time assembling the net and have no time left to practice. You want practice time with a golf club in hand not a screwdriver.

Golf cages take the durability and protection of a golf net one step further. You’re going to want a golf cage that is UV and mildew resistant. That way no matter the sun or the rain, your cage will stay in good shape.

Ease of set-up is a big selling point. I mean, who wants to spend hours putting things together? Look for snap in poles and easy twist eye bolts. The easier the assembly the more you’ll use your golf cage for practice.

If you want to resume playing in good weather and still have your drive and chipping in good shape, then set up your golf cage and practice mat. Use the cold weather to master your accuracy. When the warm weather comes you’ll be ready to play a round.

5 Easy Tips to Play Better Golf

Golf is a great game and can become very frustrating for most golfers. It can be such a sweet game when you play well, and then it can be that day of ‘what the’. Here are 5 simple ways you can look at now to improve your game and play better golf

1. Although training aids can be tremendously helpful in working out the kinks in your game, the importance of good equipment can’t be underestimated. A good set of golf clubs will help you play your best, but if you can’t afford a new set, you can always opt for brand name pre-owned golf clubs. Used golf clubs often come with a certification and warranty, so you can be assured of their quality.

2. Putting - keep your head still during a putt, and avoid looking where the ball is going once you’ve hit the putt. Why? Moving your head hampers accuracy. To putt well, you have to keep your head down and steady throughout the stroke.

3. Keep you club faces clean. If you have the slightest dirt or grit on the face of the club, it can affect the flight of the ball. Be sure to clean your clubs after every round. It can make a difference.

4. Learning how to hit wedge shots between 40 and 150 yards is the next key element of golf. These are your money shots and they can make a huge difference in your scores. The ball should be positioned towards the center of your stance. Developing touch with these shots is a function of consistent practice so make sure you put in the time necessary to learn these shots.

5. Sidespin occurs when the club-face is not aligned perpendicularly to the plane of swing. At the end of a swing, the weight has shifted almost entirely to the left foot, the body is fully turned to the left and the hands are above the left shoulder with the club hanging down over the players’ back. Standing over the ball for too long a time and wondering whether you’re going to swing the club correctly can easily result in a skewed shot, or completely missing the ball.

The tips above are simple and not too technical - but very effective at improving your overall game. So give it a go and play better golf now.
